So, I managed to find time to watch the new show on the BRAVO tv network. I found it in the iTunes free collection, which was nice. I didn't have to worry about trying to find it on Bravotv.com and no need to worry about bandwidth or crashing my browser. Anyways, onto my review.
NYC Prep is like a version of the Real Housewives of NYC with NYC prep schools. That's all it is. And can I just say that I don't think that there will be a season 2 to this show. There's no freakin' way that it will ever make it. Well, I feel that way with what I saw in just the first episode, yep, the series premiere.
These kids were unbelievable. I couldn't believe my ears. They were talking about how rich they were. Well, some weren't as rich as others. They were talking about fake IDs which isn't a big thing but, sharing it with the entire world on TV. Are they crazy?
Another thing that blew my mind and the reason why I don't believe that this show will go on for another season was these kids talking about hooking up. And we all should know by now in these times what hooking up means. It means that these kids are having sex at 16. Yes, these kids on this show were between the ages of 15 and 17.
This one kid, Sebastian was talking about hooking up with like 2 or 3 girls in one night, about 15 to 20 in a month. What happens if you run into the girl at some other party? I couldn't believe. This kid was literally a man whore (to put blunt).
One more thing that I couldn't understand was that were three different kids that were 17 years old. But, get this, they were all in different grade levels. I don't know how it worked out. But, one was a sophomore, one was a junior, and the other was a senior. So, I'm not sure how to understand that one.
But, anyways, this show is like nothing I have ever seen before. I mean it does talk about real things that are going on in the lives of real teens. But, I just couldn't believe that they were digging so far down.
I guess this is what you get when you want real reality tv. Bravo sure knows how to do it. Just wondering now, what will be next? We got Real Housewives which covers the parents and NYC Prep (which gets the high school kids covered). Are we gonna go younger with elementary kids or are we gonna go with the college kids next? Only time will tell.
